Hospitals across the Gaza Strip have received 17 bodies and treated 27 injured people over the past 48 hours, according to figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The ministry said the latest casualties included five people who had been killed recently, one person who succumbed to injuries sustained earlier, and 11 bodies recovered from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.

Health authorities warned that the reported toll could rise, with additional victims believed to remain trapped under destroyed structures or lying in areas that emergency crews have been unable to reach.

Ambulance services and civil defence teams continue to face difficulties accessing some locations, limiting efforts to recover the dead and provide assistance to those who may still be injured.

According to the ministry, 1,344 Palestinians have been confirmed killed and 4,464 injured across Gaza since the ceasefire that began last October.

The ministry said 815 bodies have been recovered from beneath the remains of collapsed buildings during that period.

The figures highlight the continuing challenges faced by emergency and medical teams as they work to recover casualties from heavily damaged areas across the territory.
